The same applies as well to remote or rural areas, disaster zones, or during emergency situations. But also to the health sector, for instance, where satellite internet can act as a facilitator for telemedicine and other remote healthcare services, improving access to healthcare for individuals in underserved areas.
Earth Observation data and satellite services, on the other hand, are driving significant transformations in a variety of fields. From more accurate weather forecasting and greenhouse gas and methane emissions for climate protection to water management. This includes real-time data i.e. on marine accidents such as oil spills, the broader protection, management, and maintenance of ecosystems and habitats. And for example precision farming, which allows for a more efficient and environment-friendly approach to agriculture by enabling precise and autonomous control of equipment and machinery in the field, optimizing the use of fertilizers and other agrochemicals. The data also allow for accurate weather modeling and microclimate measurements.
