Space energy system provider Source Energy is entering ASV’s portfolio as the fund’s 4th company

Alpine Space Ventures is excited to support Source Energy in executing their vision of making access to energy in space affordable. To access energy in space, space companies have to procure components and subsystems from different suppliers and use contractors or integrate themselves which can make up for 40% of the cost of a spacecraft. Source Energy's turnkey solar power systems are revolutionizing energy solutions in space as they render supplier and subcontractor management obsolete by providing a standard interface, reducing costs and streamlining integration. The company’s solution is spacecraft-agnostic and can hence be used for single satellites, satellite constellations with connectivity or imaging applications or i.e. in-space manufacturing, allowing any company with energy needs in space to grow and deliver their services faster.
Source Energy is led by CEO Phil Keller who looks at over 20 years of experience in commercializing space solar array technology and the successful exit of Roccor, a manufacturer of critical systems for the satellite industry, and CTO Brian Ignaut who previously directed engineering & development for solar arrays across all SpaceX programs. It is the founding team’s skills set and their long-standing expertise in the field of space energy systems, as well as the market need for an accessible solution in the area of power systems for satellites and other spacecraft that has led Alpine Space Ventures to invest into Source Energy.
Alpine Space Ventures is looking forward to partner with Phil, Brian and their team.
